The Sweet Omelette (with Pear, Banana and Cinnamon)

The Sweet Omelette with pear, banana and cinnamon! It's so a refreshing twist to that of the old savoury omelette

You read correctly – sweet omelette. Aren’t omelettes savoury though? Wrong! Rules were meant to be broken baby. Sometimes breakfast calls for something a little more sweeter and when pancakes aren’t just cutting, the sweet omelette is my back up plan. Not the refined white sugary kind of sweet though. The sweetness in this omelette is au’naturale; from the fruit, cinnamon and vanilla. Read more ..

Omelette

I’m officially obsessed with eggs for breakfast. I never use to be. There was this little myth floating around that they were bad for your cholesteral levels. Why would a healthy young 20-something year old have to worry about her cholesteral anyway?! Then I discovered how I had been mislead about how darn good they are for you! Read more ..

Homemade Vegan Quinoa Nori Sushi Rolls - The Urban Ecolife

Getinmabelly you little round, veggieful stuffed, nori rolls of goodness. Seriously, yum. I don’t know if I can technically call these sushi rolls, since they’re a bit of a twist on the age old rice and salmon varieties which is what I really define to be sushi, but each to their own. No, actually, not each to their own. I’m sorry (no I’m not), but chicken in nori rolls is NOT sushi. Just had to clear that one up thankyouverymuch. Read more ..

Now let me respond to by saying, “I am a-ok with this. Adios Winter! It was short and brief but you were lousy in bed anyway. No one looks attractive in Flannelette pajamas, ok? Or onesies for that matter. We are so much better off without you.” Read more ..

Now I’m no chef by any stretch of the word, but I do love to cook, especially when left to my own devices to get kooky and cray cray with flavours and textures. Admittedly, not everything turns out like I may have imagined in my mind, but I happily eat what I serve up on my plate because nothing is ever that bad that it warrants bring thrown out. In saying this, I think I made quite the gem with this dish so don’t let my preamble scare you off! With a little tweaking of a few ingredients, I’m sure you’ll be able to muster up your own take on this Middle Eastern/Mediterranean/Hawaiian, whatever the heck you want to be inspired by, salad. To be frank, I’m more often than not inspired by whatever ingredients I have laying around so please don’t think I’ll be offended if you choose to do the same. Read more ..
